Michelle Heath Former VP of the Canadian Energy Research Institute and Co-founder of the CO2 Hub

Michelle has had a long career in energy and environmental research and the facilitation of sustainable business solutions for industry, government and the general public.  She started her career as an economist at Husky Oil in the heavy oil department and then moved to corporate planning.  After five years at Husky Oil, Michelle joined the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI) where she authored and/or co-authored numerous publications in the areas of enhanced oil recovery, crude oil and liquids markets and alternative transportation fuels.  Upon leaving in 2001, as Senior Vice President, she changed course and established mHeath & Associates, consulting in the areas of carbon dioxide, coalbed methane, other unconventional gases and water issues.  Along the way, she was CEO of a family undertaking, The CO2 Hub Inc., an online trading platform created to facilitate the sale and utilization of carbon dioxide and related purification, compression, storage and transportation services.

In 1997, Michelle was honored to receive the YWCA Women of Distinction Award for Science, Technology and Environment.

Michelle is married with three great kids, all in professional careers.  Her other loves include the many animals … dogs, horses, cats, rabbits, fawns, baby bear … that have shared her life.  In addition, Michelle has enjoyed being involved with numerous church and charitable organizations including The Doorway and Inn from the Cold.
