Laura Bishop Environment and Community Engagement Manager, Imperial Oil

Laura has twenty years’ experience as a communications professional. She started her career as a consultant with NATIONAL Public Relations, supporting multi-industry clients in the areas of corporate social responsibility, investor relations, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and emergency response. Laura then joined Imperial’s Public and Government Affairs team where she led teams responsible for social investment, communications, operations and digital and social media. If you know Laura, you recognize she is high on collaboration and investing in relationships to further shared interests. She has led the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers’ communications committee and is committed to driving sustainability solutions in energy transition and “getting this right” for Canada’s environment and economy.

In Laura’s current role, she leads Indigenous and community engagement and government and regulatory advocacy in support of Imperial’s proposed advanced recycling project.

Laura is passionate about building stronger communities, is an active volunteer and instills this value in her children. In her spare time, she likes to take seniors outside for fresh air, coaches youth soccer, and promotes diversity and inclusion.

Growing up in Newfoundland, Laura completed her Bachelor of Commerce Degree at Memorial University and it was here, her affinity for the ocean and the outdoors started. She’s a mom of two active children (no surprise) and when she’s not rink or court side, you can find Laura skiing or camping.
