Top 30 Global Natural Gas Flaring Countries

Natural gas flaring is combustion of associated natural gas during the production of oil and gas recovery, coal-bed methane, petrochemical processing, and landfill gas extraction.

According to the World Bank, 400 million tons of CO2 equivalent emissions were released in 2019 from un-combusted methane and black carbon.

Reducing routine flaring represents opportunities to both lower global emissions and to provide communities around the world with much-needed energy.
